The Baptist...

Wow what a week this week was by far one of the best weeks I've had here I'm South Carolina!

We had zone conference on Wednesday and it was my first one as a missionary! It was cool to be around my zone and hear all about how they are all doing a lot of them are reassigned missionaries so I could talk in Portuguese with one of them but most of them spoke Spanish (which I can pretty much understand) so that's dope that day our president president Innes gave his farewell talk cause this is his last transfer it was awesome the way he speaks with the spirit its incredible even though I've only known him for 3 weeks I'm definitely going to miss him!!!

Thursday was the slowest day this week. we just went to the church and did Facebook finding with our District leader!!

And then Friday this is where the Baptist comes in lol we scheduled service that day at 11 with a member he's straight up the coolest guy his names Derick Swails he has this huge property where he live (about 50 acres) he just built his dad Roy a house about 300 yards up from his house and we were actually going to go do service over at his house! We got there and his dad was out there with us but he couldn't help us because he had hurt his back. Me and my comp soon found out the he's a Baptist... and he and his wife will always be Baptist haha but honestly that didn't bother us that much we weren't there to teach him we were there to do service! We worked on building an extension to the back of his shop/garage!! It was actually pretty fun we put up some posts and poured cement let them dry put up some boards and were going to finish it the next day! So on Saturday we got there at 6:45 started putting up joists and all that jazz but as we were there helping Roy started to warm up to us and started joking around with us and talking to us which I thought was sweet!! After we finished we went and ate lunch in Roy's house and sat and just hung out and talked with him his wife and Derick!! It was super fun to learn about there lives and about how they met (on e harmony hahaha) then we cleaned up and went back over to derricks house! Derrick thanks us for putting up with his dad and we told him it wasn't that bad it was actually nice to get to know him!!!

I thought my spiritual thought today could just be what I learned from the Baptist well what I learned from being around him. here in the mission it's not always about teaching the gospel it's about living it!! Through being examples of Christ and showing Christ like love to people you can help them understand that we're not as bad as their minister says we are and that we aren't here to just teach people we are here to serve and be representative of Jesus Christ! In Mosiah 2:17  it says "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." I know that by serving others you are doing what Christ would have done and you are serving your Heavenly Father I encourage all of you to LIVE the gospel this next week! And always be looking for service opportunities!! Cause I know that as we serve others and be Christ like examples you can bless their lives as well as your own!!

I love all of y'all
