1 More Pound To Go!! And Transfers!

Hey y'all how was everyone's week!?

My week was awesome! I said goodbye to Elder Peterson on Thursday and picked up Elder Call! It was nice we didn’t have to drive all the way to the mission office for transfers because my new companion was already in my zone. As soon as I got back to Beaufort with my new companion, we hit the ground running. Our past few days have been super busy and filled with lessons, finding, and updating all of the mission Facebook pages. We made new ads and called every zone leader in the mission to make sure every Facebook page had somebody assigned to respond to people. One of the first lessons we taught was with our friend Caitlin who is getting baptized soon. It was over video call and her twin sister just happened to be listening in and liked what she heard, so the next day we met them at the park and gave her sister a copy of the Book of Mormon too! I love my area and it will be sad to say bye here in the near future!!

My favorite experience from our lessons this past week was in our lesson with Caitlin. We asked if she had seen any changes in her life since she had begun learning more about Christ with us and reading the Book of Mormon. She replied that she had seen her outlook and life change dramatically for the better. Now, she told us, she was always happy and looking for ways to help others. She even said she just always wanted to smile and wave at people to brighten their day or make them feel loved like Jesus did. Everywhere she goes she takes a copy of the Book of Mormon in her purse and when she reads it, she writes pages upon pages of notes about what she read. After she watched stake conference and a baptism over zoom, she texted us that she loved church and that watching the baptism made her more excited for hers. Isn’t that amazing?

The gospel of Jesus Christ is a gospel of change. To all the children of our Heavenly Father we invite them to come as they are, but don’t expect to stay that way. If you live the gospel of Jesus Christ and adopt his character, there will be a visible difference. The prophet Alma asks, “have ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received his image in your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty change in your hearts?” I know that we can become more, and that the Book of Mormon coupled with the Holy Ghost draws us closer to Christ, just as it did for Caitlin. If you haven’t yet read it, I invite you to do so. If you have, I invite you to consider the influence it has had on your life and share it with someone

I love y'all and hope everything is going well for each one of you just like it is for me!!

Also, I'm 1 lb away from heading back so stay tuned!! Haha
